Doniphan Community Library

A group of area residents set out on a mission for a Doniphan library in early 2016 with no funds, supplies, books or resources – simply a dream for the community.  As a result of the support from the community, it all came together and officially opened in July 2016.

Scott Zersen, owner of the former Doniphan Townhall building offered a space for the library, which is located at 105 West Plum Street.  Zersen installed new carpeting while Galen Sterner offered his time and talent painting the room with the paint donated by Jamie Berlie of Sterner Painting.

Shelving was donated from a number of parties, including Doniphan Trumbull School and installed by Lance Hoagland of Cardinal Construction.

All of the books were donated from area community members. The library includes books and materials for all ages, including sections for children, teens, fiction, nonfiction and more.  In addition, a selection of DVD’s and audio books are available.

Spring hours are: Mondays 3:30 – 5 pm and 6:30 – 8 pm; Wednesdays 3:30 – 5 pm; Thursdays 3:30 – 5 pm and 5:30 – 7 pm;  Saturdays  9 – 11 am.  In addition, the library is open most weekday mornings from 8 – 10 am.
